Nakita Pope, began walking in 2009. She loved the natural high and after a few weeks, she started jogging. In September, she signed up for and completed the Chicago 5K and inspired us all! If you've never used this tiny device you are missing out! Compatible with ipod nanos, this plug-in device measures your distance, pace and calories burned...and even cheers you on! It's great! Just research for GirlTrek on the Nike+ site, and you can register that way - no emailing, your ipod will keep track of everything and report totals to us!. When you sync your ipod, it automatically uploads your walking information to our GirlTrek Nike+ website! And we can compete!!!!!!! Please note: To use the Nike+, you do not have to own a special pair of Nike shoes to hold the sensor. Instead, you can purchase a small shoe lace pouch for $4 bucks and use the shoes you already have! Get ready to walk it out ladies!!!!!

At the end of the season the first 20 Trekkers to mail their season trek cards, showing 150 minutes walked each week to 3933 Park Avenue, Fairfield, CT 06835 by July 15, 2010 will earn a free GirlTrek T-Shirt

At the end of the season, we will review all victory stories in the Sound Off Guestbook, under the Live it link, and select the most inspirational victory story. So be sure to share your progress regularly. The best stories will be featured on our Facebook page and the winner will receive a GirlTrek T-shirt and a $100 gift certificate for a spa day!.
2010 Best Picture - Solo Trekker
At the end of the season the best team picture, either posted to our fan page on Facebook or submitted via email will be awarded with a featured spot in our 2011 Inspirational calendar and a $25 I-Tunes Giftcard.

2010 Best Music Playlist
At the end of the season, we will review all playlists entered in the Sound Off Guestbook, under the Live it link, and select the winner. All types of music will be considered. Gospel, funk, hip hop, classic soul, etc. be sure to name your playlist a creative name and submit the name of the song and the artist. The winner will receive $50 I-Tunes Gift Card
