GirlTrek Founders Walk Across Mississippi to Honor Fannie Lou Hamer on her 100th Birthday!
October 6th would have been Fannie Lou Hamer's 100th birthday. She died too soon at 59 years from the stress of fighting the good fight. She put her body on the line for our freedom and we want to celebrate her life. So GirlTrek, the largest health organization in the country for African-American women, is hosting a series of walks - all across America - dedicated to Fannie Lou Hamer! In in her honor, GirlTrek's co-founders, Morgan Dixon and Vanessa Garrison will fly to Mississippi to walk with local trekkers from Jackson, Memphis, etc. on October 6th. All are welcome. Please RSVP to let us know that you'll be joining!
