Southern Heritage Classic
No matter if you’re a Tennessee State University fan or a Jackson State University fan, the Southern Heritage Classic Parade is the place to be. Let’s get our #SuperheroSaturday trek on and take the streets to spread the word about GirlTrek to hundreds of bystanders on the parade route.
Important Things to Know
It will be a long morning and a lot of waiting so be prepared.
MEETING TIME AND LOCATION: We will meet at Melrose High School rear parking lot, 2870 Deadrick Ave., Memphis, TN 38114. (Please do not park on Haynes Street nor in front of Melrose High. Additional parking on Dunmoor, Pendleton, Beverly and Bradley Streets. Also on west side of school in Lewis Davis Park.)
Staging is 7 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. so please be there by 8 a.m. so we can gather as a group. I will sign us in so look for me in the blue!
GirlTrek is Section A #20 so we’re in the first group marching out.
ROUTE: Parade starts promptly at 9 a.m. from Park Avenue at Haynes Street; will travel westbound on Park Avenue ending at Lamar/Airways shopping center.
WEAR: Your Superhero Blue, of course! If you do not have an official GirlTrek shirt (any style), wear bright blue.
SIGNS: Bring any signs or extra GirlTrek gear you have so we can wave it high and proud!
