Hudson Valley Trekkers, our Saturday Prayertrek will take us to the beautiful Harriman State Park. Located in Rockland and Orange counties, Harriman is the second-largest park in the NY state parks system. The leaves are already changing and they shimmer beautifully over the lakes. Our trek is considered easy/moderate. We’re walking in the woods, mostly level, but there are rocks, tree roots, and stone steps to traverse. The trek is approximately 3 miles and will take 2.5 - 3 hours including a snack break to pause, reflect & re-energize. We’ll meet in the parking lot of Grace Point Gospel Fellowship Church, 384 New Hempstead Rd #1323, New City, NY 109565, exit 11 off the Palisades Parkway at 7:45AM. From there we’ll hop back on the Palisades and caravan to serene Lake Skannatati. OR, you can follow directions to Pine Swamp Mountain near Lake Skannatati. There is NO cellular service in the park. Print directions before you go. You won’t be able to reach me or access your map app in the park. Feel free to contact me for more info. The forecast is sunny & 60’s. Dress in layers, long pants & sleeves, sturdy shoes, walking stick, bug spray, sunblock, water & a snack. Free parking, but the lot fills up fast for this beloved location.
