Fannie's Army Rises Again... Orchard Beach Annual Sunset Stroll
“In the iconic words of Fannie Lou Hamer, we are sick and tired of being sick and tired. She died too soon putting her body on the line for our freedom and we continue to celebrate her life in a big way. She gave her life for our freedom at the age of 59. The Bronx chapter of #FanniesArmy rises with our annual birthday trek. Orchard Beach is a public beach in the Bronx, New York City. The beach is part of Pelham Bay Park and is situated on the western end of Long Island Sound. Sometimes called the Bronx Riviera, Orchard Beach is the only beach in the Bronx. The 1.1-mile-long beach contains a hexagonal-block promenade along which we will walk. Meet in the parking lot at 5:55pm. Everyone is welcome! Wear your superhero blue, comfortable shoes, bring plenty of water and bring a sista. This is dedicated to Black Women's health!
