Superhero Saturday Afternoon Trek: In Celebration of Shirley Chisholm
This Superhero Saturday is all about celebration of the Brooklyn born trailblazer who was the first African American Congresswoman, as well as the first woman and African American to run for President, none other than Shirley Chisholm! This afternoon walk will cover 3.22 miles of gravel and paved walkways up and down hills near the water (Yay sea breeze! Let that wind blow through our hair). No real cover from the sun or other elements so dress for the occasion. Wear your Superhero Blue, bring lots of water and any snacks you may need. Remember the trek code arrive 7 minutes early see you at 3:53pm. Shirley Chisholm State Park is accessible by car (lots of parking) and bus. Take the #3 train to Pennsylvania Avenue then take the B82 or B83 to Pennsylvania Avenue / Seaview Avenue (aka last stop). Then it's a 4 minute short walk to the park. If you are headed from Manhattan there is also the option of the BM2 or BM5 Express Bus to Pennsylvania Avenue /Seaview Avenue. Looking forward to trekking with you! Come celebrate with us!
