GirlTrek & Environmental Learning for Kids
Montbello Civic Center Park is located @ Tulsa Court & Albrook Drive, Denver, CO 80239; directly behind the Denver Fire Department/Montbello Library/Denver Broncos Boys and Girls Club. Come out and celebrate Colorado Public Lands Day with Environmental Learning for Kids (ELKS). They have planned a family fun day of activities, free BBQ/refreshments and community resources.
#GirlTrekDenver will host a booth at this community celebration, and we will be leading walks/tours of the ELKS new Open Space Park (across the street from the Montbello Civic Center Park). Each tour take 30 minutes to complete. We will take turns leading them with students from our community High Schools.
Be sure to wear your GirlTrek Tshirt and come out with your family to enjoy this day of community engagement. We will lead several tours during the day to promote better comnunity health and to introduce participants and children to GirlTrek and the new ELK Park.
Dress weather appropriately and wear comfortable sneakers. Water will be provided by ELKS and Restrooms are available in the Library and the Boys and Girls Club.
Also, I have arranged to have a van bring the #WednesdaySeniorSteppers out to share in the festivities. Of course we will be promoting our Montbello community initiative - #MontbelloWalks for greater community health and connections. Be sure to visit their tent and say hello.
Contact me (Pam Jiner) @ 720.620.5735 if you have questions. I'll see you there!
