Take A Hike Day Denver
Join GirlTrek Denver for a celebration of National Take a Hike Day at Rocky Mountain Arsenal National Wildlife Refuge to experience urban conservation. As part of the #weareHarriet campaign for the month of November please do the Day 17 activity prep and watch Bryan Stevenson's Ted Talk titled, "We need to talk about an injustice" plus be prepared to speak about it. We will lace up to save our own lives while we discuss this the Ted Talk. Join for community, wellness, and a day of celebration with other sisters on the trails of Colorado. Come for the hike and stay for the 11-mile drive around the refuge after where you can see waterfowl and bison.
This trek is open to adult women able to hike 1.8 to 3.8 miles on dirt trails to or around Ladora Lake. The trails are rated as easy but the grand condition can range from dry dirt to mud to snow. Bring hiking shoes, hydration, extra layers in case we get rain or snow, and snacks to keep yourself fueled. You may want to consider bringing your trekking poles if you use them. This hike is appropriate for trekkers already walking 2 miles with ease on a regular basis.
