Laundry Day: A Woman's Work
Laundry Day: A Woman's Work
We have three activities today. The #BallantyneWalks trek group will still meet at 8am. We will walk as usual for at least 30 minutes. At 9am anyone able, will head towards uptown by way of the CATS Lynx I485 Station. We will visit the Harvey B. Gantt Center at 10am for an exhibition, A Woman's Work. The exhibition places the focus of attention on the black woman - as the center of family, as a sister, worker and the epitome of womanhood. Then we will enjoy a free lunch at 12noon. If you ain't tired yet, you can join the ShowerBus 'N CLT Inc at their bi-monthly #Laundryand Literacy event at the Westover Hills Laundromat. There we will read to the children and play games as their parents do their laundry. Do all three activities or just stay as long as you can.
