SuperHERos...did you know that we here in Miami (even in our amazing Overtown community) have some of the highest sex trafficking rates in the country? Did you also know, that as the festivities of the Superbowl quickly approach, the trafficking is becoming even more out of control-- in our own backyard! Ladies, GirlTrek Overtown SuperHERos are committed to saving ourselves, our babies and our communities! It's what we do! So, this Saturday we will walk, we will learn, then we will work to raise awareness. Join us as we team up with the YWCA Miami and S.O.A.P. (Save Our Adolescents from Prostitution) Project for a Super Bowl project to bring awareness about human trafficking.  We will meet at the Lyric theater, promptly at 8am have our trek, then we will head over to the YWCA on 5th street to participate in the event. Agenda: Doors open at 9:30am- Registration 10am- Label soap and put together hotel packets 10:30am-12pm- Human Trafficking Training 12-1pm Lunch and teams pack up for the hotels.  1-3pm- Teams deliever materials to the hotels.  Stay for any part, or all of the day's activities.
