PTSD Mental Health Walk & Talk
PTSD Mental Health Walk & Talk
The GirlTrek Mental Health/ PTSD Walk is happening to raise awareness about the struggles and the solutions concerning both our health and mental health. This topic is highly important to me because I know as a Black Woman that we are all effective by mental illness, stress and depression in some form or fashion. GirlTrek is an amazing organization that encourages women and community groups to walk and to be a support to one another. In 2012, I wrote and published my first book about Post-Tramatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). My husband is a former marine and suffers from PTSD. Recently, a story of an alleged mentally ill Texas woman involved in an unjustifiable execution by the police has gained national attention.
