In the Footsteps of Harriet Tubman
*Come on out and celebrate Harriet Tubman Day at Fort Monroe and tour the Casemate Museum that exhibits information about Harriet Tubman's role in the care of escaped slaves called contrabands who fought for the Union Army at Fort Monroe and gained their freedom.
*We will start at the Casemate Museum where we will do a self-guided tour, then walk for 30 minutes (if weather permits), ending at the Gazebo where we will have reflections.
*Let's meet at the parking area at the First Africans marker. The parking area is the first parking area after you pass The Chamberlain at 2 Fenwick RD, then pass the gazebo.
*Attire: GirlTrek gear or a royal blue t-shirt. Please bring rain gear, an umbrella and your water bottle.
