Waldorf Walking Warriors GirlTrek Blue Goes Red For American Heart Health
February is American Heart Month. Many do not know that Heart Disease is the #1 killer of women. With GirlTrek, we do know that walking helps us fight back against this horrible disease and many others.
“Go Red for Women“ is the American Heart Association's national movement to end heart disease and stroke in women. Their website, goredforwomen.org, states “It’s no longer just about wearing red; it’s no longer just about sharing heart health facts. It’s about all women making a commitment to stand together with Go Red and taking charge of their own heart health as well as the health of those they can’t bear to live without. Making a commitment to your health isn’t something you have to do alone either, so grab a friend or a family member and make a Go Red Healthy Behavior Commitment today.”
Let’s take charge of our own heart ❤️ health TOGETHER by taking a mall walk. Join us for a trek that will last for one hour of power! Boom! 💥 Bring a bottle of water, wear your comfortable shoes and wear some RED ❤️ gear to support the cause. Please arrive 10 minutes early, at 7:50 pm for the STRETCH and brief talk before the walk to get us prepared. Park on the top level and enter through the Food Court entrance. We start walking at 8:00 am sharp. Feel free to bring a sistah friend to share in the movement!
