Anacostia River Boat Tour and Walk
Last fall, GirlTrek DMV walked the Anacostia River Trail. There was a boat tour happening during one of our treks. Guess What? It's our turn to hit the river!
We will meet Trey, our boat guide, at the Anacostia Boat Ramp. He will lead us on a tour along the Anacostia River starting sharply at 11 am for approximately 2 hours. You should dress appropriately for the weather. The boat tour is FREE and you do not need to have a ticket. However the trip is limited to 20 people so i will need to have your name on a list. Come out to learn a little about the river and trail. I'm sure we will hear some interesting facts!
Once we finish, we will hit the Anacostia trail and get our steps in for about 1 hour. Bring water and snacks to eat while we trek. Make sure you have on sneakers for this paved trail.
Park near the Anacostia Skate Pavilion. Allow time to walk to the boat ramp which is a short distance away. Don't forget to wear your GirlTrek gear so that Anacostia is poppin with our melanin and superhero blue!
Click here for more info on the boat tours. It will be cool tomorrow morning. Wear layers to keep warm while we are in the boat. You may also want to bring a hat and glove. We will warm up on the trail. Also there is construction near the park so allow plenty of time to enter the park just in case traffic is rerouted near 295/Pennsylvania Ave area.
