Girltrek Jackson Marches In Juneteenth Parade
*****CALLING ALL QUEENS 👸🏽!!!!!***** The Fourth of July isn’t the only Independence Day in America. On June 19, 1865, two years after the Emancipation Proclamation, the last of our people were liberated by the Union Army. We celebrate June 19th as Emancipation Day, Freedom Day or the jazziest name - #Juneteenth. Join Girltrek Jackson in commemorating our history and reflecting on freedom by participating with us in Jackson, Mississippi's own Juneteenth Parade and Festival in the Downtown Farish Street Historic District! The parade and festival will take place on Saturday, June 16 @ 4:00 pm! PLEASE RSVP now, we want you marching right along with us! ALL TEAMS AND SOLOTREKKERS WELCOME TO JOIN US!! Feel free to make your own signs with girltrek health and love messages. We’ll also have some available for you to march with. The theme this year is "Melanated Magic" ATTIRE: #SuperHeroBlue #Girltrek gear along with any African accessories/accents/bandannas/scarves/wraps/etc. For more info about the Juneteenth Parade & Festival click here: The parade is about 4 blocks in length, not very long but it’s generally very hot so hydrate well and bring something to block the sun! Bring plenty of water! Also keep in mind it’s a festival of black owned businesses and organizations you may want to support after the parade. Just FYI. We hope to see you there!
