‘Whether you have a Ph.D., or no D, we’re in this bag together. And whether you’re from Morehouse or Nohouse, we’re still in this bag together.’ —Fannie Lou Hamer Join us for another walk on the Underground Railroad trail in Sandy Spring, Maryland, as we celebrate and commemorate the life and legacy of Fannie Lou Hamer through fellowship and the power of a walk. See a short video of our previous walk: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/0BzIGUhs_jsMzTFRjUl9XazhocDg Our pace will be considerate of beginners. We promise to leave nobody behind. But this is a 3.1 mile walk on uneven terrain on a wooded trail and open field areas. Bring a hat, bug spray, sun screen, and good shoes for this type of walk. Actually born on October 6, we have the honor to walk with the spirit of this civil rights icon and the honor Fannie Lou Hamer’s legacy while doing so. Our pace will be leisurely but deliberate (20 min./ mile). Ample parking on the property. Let’s meet for the walk start behind the big white barn. Any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me. Don’t forget to wear your Girltrek blue! ‘Never forget where we came from and always praise the bridges that carried us over.’ —Fannie Lou Hamer
