Destination Health: Family Festival
Ok, here’s what’s happening this year. This Saturday, July 27th.
The Center for African American Health is hosting their Annual Destination Health event at City Park. This year their focus is on the family and there will not be a 5K or walk/run.
They are planning many group activities for fun and engagement for the entire family, complete with a kids zone.
GirlTrek will however be hosting a group walk around the lake at 10:00am. Be early so we can have a good representation. Wear your GirlTrek T-shirt if you have one. If not, wear Superhero Blue tops. You know we have to co-ordin-ate🤣!
We will meet at the pavilion stage for our sister circle ⭕️ where we will introduce GirlTrek and share why we joined or what GirlTrek means to you! Then we will lead a group walk (coordinated by the CAAH) and get to know potential trekkers. As always, be willing to answer questions and encourage women to join the movement.
I have paid the registration fee for GirlTrek to host a booth. Please come out, bring your GirlTrek business cards, make some flyers on scheduled Walks in your neighborhood and this year, bring a snack to share with sisters holding down the booth. You know they will have vendors that charge for everything and we don’t want to be out there hungry. You know the drill - this is an opportunity for GirlTrekDenver to recruit new sisters! #1MillionX2020!
The event starts at 8:00 am so get there early if you want to park close to the venue. And I will bring the tent, table, banner and some handouts, smoothie bottles to giveaway and ??? Stuff! Oh! Bring a lawn chair so you can sit down.
Remember to dress weather appropriate, wear sneakers or closed toe shoes and bring water for hydration.
If you have any questions please call Pam Jiner at 720-620-5735
I hope to see you there!
Let’s go get ‘me! It’s RECRUITMENT TIME!
