Let's hike in Chautauqua Park, in recognition of Harriet Tubman Day!
This will be a moderate to difficult 4 mile round-trip hike. We will take the Bluebell Rd trail to the Royal Arch trail. The hike begins an incline through Bluebell Canyon, then switchback (zig-zag) up a piney ridge that will offer views of Boulder and surrounding areas. The trail drops into the drainage on the outer side of the ridge, climbs past Tangen Spring, then more steeply to end at Royal Arch.
It is important that you wear hiking boots or trail shoes with good traction. Bring trekking poles if you have them to help with navigating the climbs and descends. Bring at least 64 oz of water and snacks (fruit, trail mix, nuts, granola bars) or lunch; sunscreen; sunglasses, hat or visor. Wear GirlTrek gear if you have it.
If you're interested in carpooling post in the GirlTrek Denver group so we can get this coordinated. We will leave Denver at 8:00 am, should arrive at Chautauqua Park by 8:45 am and hike will begin at 9:00 am.
