After organizing walks in Detroit for over 15 years, I am helping to organize our first one in Highland Park. Our small city is not all fixed up and could use resources to bounce back but many of us can still see the beauty and potential in it. Come out to our first official kick off of the Highland Park 2.9 Walkers Club. Saturday, April 27th from 9am-11am, 34 Avalon St. This is a rain or shine event. Please RSVP. We will walk the Woodward Avenue area, approximately 3-4 miles. The pavement is not completely even and there is some broken glass and debris. We will walk next to some vacant buildings along the route. Dress for the weather. If it rains, bring an umbrella. We will only cancel if there is a thunderstorm.
