Sunday Mid-Day Fall Hike Exploring Hinckley Lake Trails
Sunday Mid-Day Fall Hike Exploring Hinckley Lake Trails
Fall is in the air. It's leaves peeping season. Join me for a beautiful hike this Sunday at Hinckley Reservation (1 Metropolitan Park W, Hinckley, OH 44233). The park is best known for its two main features; Hinckley Lake and the Whipps Ledges. Hinckley Lake lays at the center of the reservation and is the park's most popular landmark, Whipps Ledges, rises over 350 feet above the lake and is comparable in size to the Virginia Kendall Ledges of the CVNP. We will meet at 3:00 PM in the parking lot across from Hinckley Lake Boathouse for a 3.50 miles hike on the lake loop trail with the possibility of an additional 1.50-2 miles if we hike over to Whipp's Ledges. This will be easy to moderate hike that is beginner-friendly; the terrain is paved, gravel, grassy, natural surface, forest trail with some hills. Bring plenty of water to stay hydrated & snacks to replenish your energy; comfortable trail shoes or hiking boot are recommended for the trails. Invite a friend to join us.
