Juneteenth Journey to Remember
✨Girltrek Columbus will journey along the historic UGRR passageway to honor our ancestors who had long awaited freedom's glory. ✨We will walk to commemorate this date in history (June 19, 1865) when word finally reached our enslaved brothers & sisters in (Galveston) Texas that slavery had ended (1/1/1863). ✨We will walk to honor their faith & resiliency in the face of being subject to one of the most cruel & brutal institutions known to man - slavery. Our trek will take place along the Alum Creek Trail - which has been designated as having been part of the Underground Railroad Freedom Trail. ✨✨Please meet in the parking lot at 6:45, as we'll begin our journey of remembrance promptly at 7:00 p.m. Our walk will be 30-40 min.in duration -- your pace -- no woman left behind.✨✨ https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Juneteenth
