Selma Organizer Training
By Special Invitation
We are well on our way to training 10,000 everyday women to serve as frontline health activists. We have met dynamic and fierce women all around the nation on our 12-month Road to Selma Tour, and that was just the beginning. This memorial day we will bring together a specially selected team of all-star organizers to train, plan, and strategize with. Here, we will lay the foundation for Summer of Selma, 2020.
Summer of Selma
Help us make history! GirlTrek will walk in the footsteps of a civil rights legacy. Over the next three years, we will train 10,000 everyday women to serve as frontline health activists. The teach-ins and events above will all culminate next year, on sacred ground, in Selma, Alabama. There, we will retrace the steps of the historic 54-mile walk from Selma to Montgomery and end in an epic 3-day training festival called Summer of Selma! Picture a revival-like festival with artists, world-class teachers, vendors! It will be a real moment in time, new annual tradition, a new cultural institution, the Woodstock of healing for Black women.
