Celebrate Take a Hike Day with GirkTrek Oakland ! November 17th 2019 from 10:05 till 12:05 at Joaquin Miller Regional Park ! This is an opportunity to shake up your normal walking routine with a hike that will be mostly flat with some steep portions to get your heart pumping. We will be hiking a 3 mile loop (with a 405 ft elevation gain) starting with the Dunn trail and connecting to the Monteiro Trail, then the Golden Spike Trial will take us back to Dunn. The route is rated as Easy/Moderate, it is mostly flat, wide and shaded with some sun, and narrow, steep portions. The trail is multi-use and we might encounter dogs, horses, and bikers. We will meet at the Richard C. Trudeau Conference Center Parking Lot, 11500 Skyline Blvd, Oakland, CA 94619. There are restrooms and parking at the center, but, I am not sure how crowded they will be since it is National Take a Hike Day. It is public transit accessible, you can Park at Fruitvale Station and take the 339 Bus.
