GirlTREK is the largest national non-profit health organization seeking to inspire and support Black women and girls to live their healthiest and most fulfilled lives – simply by walking. GirlTREK was founded in 2010 by two friends, and it’s free to join. It has become one of the country’s most effective public health interventions. GirlTREK’s bold mission is to increase the life expectancy of Black women by 10 Years in 10 years!

To reach the largest gathering of Black women and girls, GirlTREK has launched a special impact team focused on faith-based organizations. Our goal is to encourage and support faith based organizations to implement a healthy initiative or partner with us if you are already active by forming faith-based crews.

A faith-based crew is two or more people who walk together at least once a month, complete monthly walking challenges, and engage in community service acts throughout the year.
